More than 58.5 million Americans smoke. Among current U.S. adult smokers, 65% report that they want to quit smoking and millions try to quit every year. It is estimated that most smokers will attempt to quit two or three times, or more, before finally kicking the habit. Cigarettes have 4,000 chemicals, including 43 known cancer-causing compounds and 400 other toxins.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, tobacco is the cause of 421,000 premature deaths each year, and is associated with emphysema, lung cancer, shortness of breath, chronic cough, high blood pressure, and an increase in frequency of flue and cold.

Acupuncture to Quit Smoking

Acupuncture is an alternative approach to quit smoking because of its ability to reduce cravings and alleviate withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, irritability, restlessness and jitters. It also aids in relaxation and detoxification. Many patients also report that cigarettes taste worse than before treatment.

Generally treatments are scheduled once or twice a week for 3 to 10 weeks or until you quit smoking. Treatments include a combination of auricular (ear) and body acupuncture, cupping, herbs and or supplements.

Most patients fall asleep during treatment and have no side effects!

Acupuncture prescriptions are specially designed for each patient, so points will be added or eliminated to balance your body!
