Shingles is a painful skin rash that is caused by the varicella zoster virus ( herpes zoster). It usually appears in a band, a strip, or a small area on one side of the face or body.  Shingles occurs when the virus that causes chickenpox starts up again in the body. In some people, it stays dormant forever. In others, the virus “wakes up” when disease, stress, or aging or medication weakens the immune system.

Shingles is most common in older adults and people who have weak immune systems because of stress, injury, certain medicines, and or other reasons.  In case of severe emergency, please contact your physician.

Treatments Needed: It depends on the duration, severity, nature of the complaint and or the ability for the body to heal itself. 3 to 20 or more treatments may be advisable to balance the body.

Most patients fall asleep during treatment and have no side effects!

Acupuncture prescriptions are specially designed for each patient, so points will be added or eliminated to balance the body!
